I made the above report due to spamming, using new domains to get around existing blacklisting, sockpuppetry and block evasion. However, the spamming seems to have stopped again at about the same time this had been reported - so no immediate need for blacklisting at this time. An anon IP has been repeatedly trying to add a link to a blog that "reviews" movie trailers, hosted by Wordpress. Xlinkbot removed the first, and despite repeated warnings from various users, the link has been added and dleted 20 times. I believe the spamming will not cease.

AniDb.info was already added to the blacklist 2 years ago for actively facilitating the distribution of copyrighted material without the owners permition.[23] However, since then, the website has changed it's domain name to anidb.net.   • As a current gamer of Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, I can tell you that Voobly.com has effectively replaced the Errant Venture as the client of choice for online gaming. The use of Voobly can be attested to by navigating to one of the Battlestats competition pages, for example: http://www.battlestats.com/events/?3681
  • So, although the link may appear to be a spam, it is still a link to a valuable multiplayer resource for older games. I would like to see Voobly.com removed from the blacklist. (MediaWiki_talk:Spam-whitelist#Voobly.com - my whitelist request)
  • As an aside: Voobly.com and GameRanger.com are two separate entities to the best of my knowledge, as they have their own, very different online game hosting clients.

I would also like to see the removal of voobly.com from the blacklist. I was (still am!) a keen AOE II player myself, and when Microsoft shut down MSN zone I in fact setup a website of my own with some friends to develop a client for online play. After several months of getting constantly attacked and put out as spammers by 'rival' websites and other delinquents who just happened to be attracted by these game sites I decided just to close the site down. It is unfortunate that sites like this attract a lot of juvenile delinquents that behave in this way but it is rather harsh to punish or blacklist genuine developers (and their sites) because of the actions of persons unrelated to the site or the developers, and the costs and complexities of trying prevent this action by legal means is prohibitive for most companies never mind for small developers just starting out. I know some of the people at Voobly and these guys are definitely not spammers, it is most likely that they are suffering a similar situation as that which I personally experienced with my own site (which I now redirect to voobly incidentally!). I only discovered voobly was on the blacklist when I tried to update my own personal page to reflect that I am a keen AOE II player and mention that I play at voobly, and it would not accept the link. This is rather sad to see.

It's been on the Harringay Stadium article for a while now and I think it adds real value. It looks to me like it's someone's personal passion. If they've added it too widely, I imagine that their motivation stems from misguided passion and can most likely be reined in with a kind but firm word. First, it is not listed here, but on meta. The reason can be found here, repeated and continued additions to wikis by, mostly, 1 IP. And since none of the additions were on it:Afro Radio or Afro Radio (the official link of the station would of course be a good link on the page itself, but neither exist, and I wonder if the station is notable enough for having an own page), but all to other pages linked to the genre of the music, they all fail, at least here on the en.wikipedia, our policies and guidelines.  Denied here, and  Defer to Global blacklist if you'd like to have it delisted. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:05, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We know they all point to the same site. That's why they're all blacklisted. We've had numerous accounts trying to add them, that's why they're blacklisted. As I said before, a whitelisting to a specific link might be considered if it came from an established editor, but we generally don't remove entries from the blacklist at the request of someone affiliated with the site or a single purpose account.
