The article states that there are three minor orders. My recollection is that there were four minor orders: acolyte , lecter , porter and exorcist.71.215.56.225 13:02, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Referring to Islamic exorcists and victims of possessions as superstitious as well as including those words in quotations is ludicriously biased.--72.138.133.124 06:51, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the article "exorcism" gives a completely different view of islamic exorism. It claims that it was part of Islam from ancient times. Someone clarify.--198.37.16.33 07:49, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found this page from the Catholic Encylopedia on exoricst: [1]

I'm removing the quarky messianic jewish section. Does every Mj congregation believe this? how is it different from normal pentacostal views? Is there even a unified theology within Messianic Judaism structured enough to say its beliefs? 88.152.134.66 07:17, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some people think "Is this even true?" This section is highly conversational, with phrases like "Here's a bit of a background:". It also puts all of the Islamic terms and ideas in a Christian context. If "Exorcist" is only a Christian term, and anything Islamic needs to be put in that context, perhaps the Islamic idea of exorcism needs its own article. It's a heavy, heavy bias to assume that our readers will be more familiar with Christian concepts than Islamic ones. 71.63.242.93 (talk) 21:02, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scientific viewpoint

[edit]

Why does not this article talk about the scientific untenability of the notion of exorcism?
