Need an opinion[edit]
Hey Gonzo. I've been hung up on the full Detroit draft pick lists for a few days because I've been considering removing the red names from the lists altogether. I don't think there's a reasonable expectation for most of them to ever be created, especially when PFR doesn't even have profiles on a lot of them. I've been finding it tough with some names to properly disambiguate, since we often use birth years if players are from the same position and have the same name, but I can't even find the birth years in some cases, leading to difficulty in disambiguating. Then I'm like, is this really even worth red linking anything here? I think it also leads to situations where an article for the same name gets created, if the name either isn't disambiguated or is simply disambiguated with (American football), and it could lead to a lot of these tables pointing to the wrong players over time. Thoughts? Hey man im josh (talk) 11:58, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hey man im josh I don't have any qualms with you not redlinking the entries. I think here it just comes down to personal preference. I like redlinks, others don't. One thing I did do was make sure that the redlinks in these articles matched up with the redlinks in the respective yearly draft templates, to help prevent articles not pointing to the right person.
- In other news, as I await the year and half it will take to get all my FLCs through the process, I started working on famous Green Bay Packers games. I had already done Instant Replay Game a while back, and just finished up 1940 NFL All-Star Game (January) and Snow Bowl (1985). Next stop is Miracle in Motown! :) « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 13:42, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Joe Shield[edit]
On 17 June 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Joe Shield, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Joe Shield was the first person from Vermont to be drafted into the NFL and then make a team's roster? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Joe Shield. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Joe Shield), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
