Animals other than greeks

[edit]

That was a nice mistake in RfD "Animals other than Greeks". I know what you meant: which is why I didn't comment there cos one or both of us will be accused of racism. I just was picturing you as a hate-filled racist calling all Greeks past and present animals and low-life. It gave be a big laugh out loud – thank you for it. Humans are animals (Animalia, Cordata, Mammalia, Homo, Sapiens), it was not intended as an insult. I'll add a clarifying note. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 03:44, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

Thank you for your comment here. As you are certainly more skilled than me bout templates, could you test this one (created by the same editor) and check if it works? It appears a blatant nonsense to me, but maybe it makes sense to you. Thanks in advance. --Cavarrone 07:39, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've no idea what that one is for, it doesn't really make any sense, since I lack the context for which it was created. I know exactly what it does, by reading the template coding, but I don't see why anyone would write it. It has some required structuring that makes it less useful in the general case (especially that Mod-Pol construct) and the names of the variables don't make it any clearer as to what this is meant for. I left the usage on the talk page, Template talk:VisualArgument -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 11:57, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, we probably lack the context to understand its sense. Many thanks for the check. --Cavarrone 12:53, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Da nada, you're welcome -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 12:01, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't edit war so you can crap on the article with your silly templates if you like. Please go learn what a "primary source" is. The source you'd prefer is a "third-party" or "independent" source, which is not the same thing as primary/secondary/tertiary sourcing. Yes, such sources are great for contentious issues. I can assure you no facts here are contentious and are all easily confirmed by third party sources. Let's leave that hassle for facts that are contended. Please also don't stick a "notability" template on an article without making any effort to see if it is notable. Of course there are third party sources on this camera. A quick Google confirms this. There is absolutely zero chance of it being deleted on those grounds. So what's your point? You've spent more effort edit warring to restore your silly templates than actually checking to see if you are right or not. The article is currently one paragraph. One source for a paragraph seems quite all right to me. It is a stub. If someone wants to expand it, then more sources will be needed. If someone wants to make a contentious claim, higher quality sources will be needed. But until someone wants to make that effort, your templates are just you crapping on someone else's work. I suppose restoring your templates makes you feel all big and righteous. If you think your templates are going to make me jump through your hoops, you're mistaken. -- Colin°Talk 22:16, 26 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:PRIMARYSOURCE Primary sources are original materials that are close to an event, and are often accounts written by people who are directly involved -- the company website is most definitely a primary source. {{notability}} is for articles that do not state their notability. Since you didn't actually say why the camera is notable, the article is lacking sources to establish notability. Your article would have failed the verification process at WP:AFC (insufficient number of sources, everything being primary sources, failure to cite notability) so I don't see why you're all hot and bothered about it. Did you want me to nominate it for deletion or something? They are cleanup tags, not deletion tags. If you have such an easy time finding additional stuff, why didn't you add that material? Afterall, that's what you're supposed to do when addressing the concerns cited in the cleanup tags. -- 65.94.169.222 (talk) 08:09, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'll respond on the article talk page. You seem to be under some misunderstanding about primary sources vs independent or third-party sources, and about the purpose of sourcing or tagging. This is a wiki. The primary aim of any editor should be to improve articles. Only where they are unable to improve the article themselves, should they drop a template on it asking for help from someone else to improve it. For example, one is unable to get hold of a book or science journal. Since it is trivial to fix the claimed sourcing issues in this article, your purpose in tagging this article is simply to make work for someone else. Which is rude. -- Colin°Talk 11:07, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/RCrB, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:37, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 65.94.171.126. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "RCrB".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/RCrB}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK! bark with me! 19:34, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
