"Destroyed" temples

[edit]

I'm not sure this category name is correct. "Destroyed" implies that they were deliberately demolished, when at least some simply fell into ruin. Cynwolfe (talk) 00:53, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I did not create the category itself: I merely created one of the subcategories of an already excisting parent category. You should adress the main category (which I did not create). --Aciram (talk) 00:57, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Category:15th-century Polish–Lithuanian nobility has been nominated for deletion. A discussion is taking place to decide whether it complies with the categorization guidelines. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the categories for discussion page. Thank you. Hi, I see you've contributed a lot to Sami shamanism, would you be interested in a taskforce on oral tradition? Kowal2701 (talk) 19:21, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. That sounds interesting. I shall see, I have limited time. Thanks for asking. --Aciram (talk) 19:32, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kat Cole's new position

[edit]

Hi Aciram. I'm the COI editor for AG1, formerly Athletic Greens. I saw your impressive editing and your interest in women's issues on Wikipedia, and I'd be grateful for your help with some pending changes to Kat Cole's article. Specifically, Kat's latest promotion to CEO of Athletic Greens isn't currently reflected in the Wiki. Her role as COO and President at AG1 is mentioned only in the intro and now needs to be updated; neither of her positions are mentioned in the body of the Wiki. I've linked to my suggested language above. I understand that as a paid editor I am not meant to make these changes myself without community buy-in; if you approve, I can implement. Thank you in advance, BL for AG1 (talk) 18:58, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for your question. I would love to, but I feel I should know at least something about the subject, and I am quite pressed for time at the moment, otherwise I would have loved to help. --Aciram (talk) 18:04, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Like your opinion on the FOOian-century slave category tree

[edit]

I just made a category header for FOOian slaves ( Template:Slaves by nationality and century category header). I'm extremely conflicted about several aspects, including whether we should point to FOOian slave traders, whether the category should be diffusing, and whether the category should be placed by occupation. Do you have thoughts? I'd be happy to implement the alternatives to what is currently in place. See Category:17th-century American slaves for what it looks like right now. Mason (talk) 13:23, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your question. Yes, I might have thoughts, but I have a lot to do for the next couple of days so that would probably have to wait, if that is the case. But generally: the principle is to categorize slaves from the country they were slaves in. For exampe "American slaves" are the category for people who experienced slavery in America/the US, regardless of their own ethnicity or nationality. And we should stick to that. To sort slaves from their own ethnicity/nationality would be a big mistake. It would not be usefull. --Aciram (talk) 13:44, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing! Take your time. I agree with you that American slaves are describing people who were enslaved in the United States. It sounds like we're on the same page. I'll add a hatnote making that clear. Mason (talk) 13:57, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good. And, of course, American slaves was just an example; I support the same principle for all slaves, whether they were enslaved in the US, Rome, Greece, Arabia or Mongolia, but that's a given thing. After all, slaves were often foreigners, but what's relevant is the country in which they experienced their enslavement.--Aciram (talk) 16:23, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wish to share inputs

[edit]

Greetings, I wished to share some inputs with you as peer Wikipedian, would you be comfortable? Bookku (talk) 07:16, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do not feel I can say no. However I should point out that I find writing on Wikipedia relaxing. Writing has always been a form of relaxation for me. But I am often severely stressed in my offline life. Because of this, I am afraid I rarely have the energy to make my articles 100 % perfect. I suffer from near constrant stress and exhaustion. Hence why I need methods to relax, and writing - as I do in Wikipedia - is one of them. It may look as if I am full of energy because I write a lot: but writing is merely my way of relaxing. I say this simply since I assume I must have made some sort of mistake in need of correction.
I am sure I make unintentional mistakes in case of formatting. However, as far as I remember, and I hope this rule has not changed: an article in Wikipedia is never finnished. I have always supported this rule. It is my earnest opinion, that many articles would never have been written, if they were expected to be perfect at the time of their posting. They will always be open for editing by others. This is a great strenght of wikipedia, and it would be a shame if those rules had changed.
I do not wish to sound dismissive of correct, vaild and constructive criticism. But I think it is fair to say, that I am almost constantly exhausted. You are welcome to share inputs, I will read them and keep them in mind, but I can not promise I have the energy for long discussions. --Aciram (talk) 12:18, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
