Thank you for coming to my talk! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:45, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded vacation pics (from back home), at least the first day, - and remember Aribert Reimann. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:01, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gerda Arendt: - "inspired by Claude Debussy's compositions for clarinet" - other than orchestral use, isn't there only the Première rhapsodie? Narky Blert (talk) 20:38, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. Grimes2 wrote that, and we just lost him, it seems. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:44, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Some days later, a calf in the mist and chocolate cake, and a story of collaboration --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:42, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April

[edit]

I like to see Appalachian Spring on the Main page today (not by me, just interested and reviewed), and I also made it my story. - How do you like the statue (see places)? I was undecided so show three versions ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:14, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The statue is of Hildegard of Bingen, and as it happens, her Physica is on the Main page today, and Marian Anderson as my top story (by NBC, 1939), and below (on my talk) three people with raised arms, - and the place is the cherry blossom in Frauenstein --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:48, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

plum tree blossom for Kalevi Kiviniemi in the snow - see my talk --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:57, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

today a sad task - memory of Andrew Davis - turned into entertainment (yt at the bottom of his article, actually both) -- the latest pictures capture extreme weather --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:44, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I see you were the last to edit here, so maybe you can help, because disambiguation pages make me dizzy.

The article Oak Grove, Louisiana is the only "Oak Grove" in the state with a Wikipedia article. However, the meat of the article is located at Oak Grove, West Carroll Parish, Louisiana.

There was also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oak Grove, Louisiana.

(As an aside, Oak Grove, Louisiana was created by a notorious sock I've been hunting for years)

I think the entire article should be moved back to "Oak Grove, Louisiana".

What do you think? Cheers! Magnolia677 (talk) 11:09, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see you changed the DAB page, but this is still the only "Oak Grove" in Louisiana. The parish name is unnecessary, no? Magnolia677 (talk) 11:00, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Magnolia677: Thanks for dropping by. I have a health issue which wrecks my ability to concentrate. The wholly-unlinked entry on the DAB page needs to go. As for your main point, I agree with you - the WP:PTOPIC for Oak Grove, Louisiana is Oak Grove, West Carroll Parish, Louisiana. I suggest a WP:RM#Uncontroversial technical requests. Link this discussion. I have the technical permissions to make the necessary moves but lack the stamina. Best, Narky Blert (talk) 14:16, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am so sorry to hear that. I noticed that you had been less active than when we collaborated so successfully but I had hoped it was by choice. I hope that ill health is not affecting your offline life too badly and I wish you all the best. Certes (talk) 15:54, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
TY for your kind words. Narky Blert (talk) 20:00, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your advice with this. I hope your health issues improve soon and you're back to 100 percent. Cheers! Magnolia677 (talk) 09:54, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar 4 U!

[edit]
The Bluelink patrol Barnstar
You're the first to receive this, for starting WikiProject Bluelink patrol, you deserve it. Jerium (talk) 21:15, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I also have a request. I usually make a criteria for every new barnstar made, but I can't comprehend the ideal-purpose of the WikiProject to come up with one. Can you develop a criteria to be assign for this barnstar? Thank you. Jerium (talk) 21:15, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Jerium: Thank you! This is a rare honour.
A health scare are the end of 2021 pretty much wrecked my ability to concentrate, and I have been almost inactive on WP since then. Others who deserve this award include (but are not limited to) my colleagues Certes and GoingBatty, without whom I wouldn't have thought of setting up WP:BPAT.
Inclusion criterion? I suggest nomination by active members. Us WP:WIKIGNOMES don't seek recognition, and can be rather embarrassed by it. Narky Blert (talk) 21:59, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you like the gesture. I know there are others who deserve this also, but you know more of them than me. Perhaps you can express such appreciation to them. Anyways, thanks for your past and future efforts, happy editing & cheers! Jerium (talk) 22:27, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing at the soprano! - Recommended reading today: Frye Fire, by sadly missed Vami_IV. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:43, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Today is Schoenberg's 150th birthday! On display, portrayed by Egon Schiele, with music from Moses und Aron, and with two DYK hooks, one from 2010 and another from 2014; the latter, about his 40th birthday, appeared on his 140th birthday, which made me happy then and now again. - See places for a stunning sunrise, on the day Bruckner's 200th birthday was celebrated (just a few days late). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:14, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
