Welcome!

Hello, Surya Prakash.S.A., and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Antiquity of tamil, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. Thank you.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Your contributed article, Antiquity of tamil

[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Antiquity of tamil. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Tamil language#History. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Tamil language#History - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Infinitjest (talk) 17:04, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tamil Medium Engineering, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Pol430 (talk) 15:59, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Surya Prakash, Infact i was thinking to tell that you write about this on en.wiki. Glad you have written it. But en.wiki is little strict with policies like WP:V. While Tamil Medium engg article deserve an article, it might fail WP:N probably because of WP:BIAS.I suggest you move this article to your userspace, lets work on it and bring it back to mainspace in a manner it cant be WP:CSDd. I dont want this to be merged into Anna university since i feel this article deserves seperate space. I will also call User:Sodabottle for expert assistance and comments. Srikanth (Logic) 17:38, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes move this to your userspace, we need a lot of coverage in newspapers and mags to make this pass our WP:N and WP:GNG guidelines. I am sure it will pass, so first create it in your userspace and we will work on it.--Sodabottle (talk) 18:34, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have copied the article to User:Surya_Prakash.S.A./EngginTamil before it was deleted. Even a better title is required. Srikanth (Logic) 18:53, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Sodabottle and Srikanth. But I expected a valuable reason for that. (Deletion of that page) But no reason was given by anyone. Simply they deleted it. Help me to develop it.

Message regarding recent comment

[edit]

Hi there. If you would like to make any further requests for page protection the best place to go is the WP:RFPP area. Posting there lets the administrators deal with your request quicker and easier, rather than posting it on an article's talk page here. At the moment, I don't see much recent activity on that article, but if there is any edit warring you can take a look there if you need to. Minimac (talk) 07:30, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Marine Le Pen

[edit]

Today, you welcomed me on my new tamil userpage.

I would like to create a short article in tamil about Marine Le Pen, but it was immediately removed since I used online dictionaries. I do not know how to write properly in tamil. Do you think relevant the creation of a short article in tamil about Marine Le Pen ? As you can see, she figured in 71th position in the 2011 TIME 100 (cf. article). If you think that the subject is relevant, could you please translate a short version in tamil ? Thank you very much for your help. Hi. When you recently edited Sangarsh, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adyar (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

[edit]

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at [email protected]. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:34, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
