Duplicate portals...

[edit]

I believe that having more than one identical portal on a page is indeed redundant, as you suggested in your edit summary. I would suggest having just one but am undecided which to keep... Perhaps at the top of the page where you inserted it. Careful With That Axe, Eugene Hello... 09:03, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I just adjusted them. Had the same problem in deciding; do you think having them at the top takes away from each pages' individuality? Example: Rick Wright page / header should be more about Rick Wright, not just "Pink Floyd"? By the way, is it true there is some nut trying to have individual song pages deleted? Saw that on the project page. ThomasC.Wolfe (talk) 09:26, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Each band member went on to do other things. I agree that the page must be about the person. The fact that they formed an integral part of PF should not dominate - I believe the portal would be better positioned alongside that point in each article which discusses their involvement with the group. Just my opinion, of course! Which has already changed once today! Regarding individual songs being removed, I don't think that will fly. Where song articles are rudimentary there will be calls to merge them into the relevant album articles but hopefully the community will work to improve each song article so it will become a good article in its own right. Sorry, was tied up on another article under dispute. I agree with every point you made. I like the easier access of the portal, however, it does seem to clutter up the top of the page abit, and draw attention away from it's subject? ThomasC.Wolfe (talk) 21:03, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The thing that I noticed about these pages, is that they are loaded with so much content (much of it good). As with many articles, however, I wonder if there will be too much content eventually. ;) Everyone wants to contribute something. ThomasC.Wolfe (talk) 23:53, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
