- Keep A warship was named after him which is a "significant award or honor" and so passes WP:ANYBIO. Andrew🐉(talk) 18:40, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- Redirect to USS Austin (DE-15). Fails WP:SOLDIER (Petty Officer posthumously awarded a Navy Cross. Having a ship named after him during WWII is not a "significant award or honor") and WP:GNG. No SIGCOV in multiple RS so not notable. Mztourist (talk) 03:46, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- Merge to USS Austin (DE-15). I concur he doesn't meet NBIO/NSOLDIER but there is some mergable content here. The ship can have a section about its non-notable namesake.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:34, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

- Delete considering the actual conditions srrouding the naming of a ship after him, it does not rise to the level of a significant honor.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:38, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- Merge the information included in the section, "Death at Pearl Harbor" into USS Austin (DE-15). Not enough SIGCOV to pass notability criteria, and doesn't pass WP:NSOLDIER. Onel5969 TT me 17:24, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
