The Nando Khan Camel Incident refers to a reported case of animal cruelty that allegedly took place in Nando Khan village, district sanghar, Pakistan.
On July 14, 2024, a brutal act of animal cruelty was reported in Sanghar, Pakistan, where a feudal lord severed a camel's leg for trespassing on his land.[[1]]
Incident[edit]
On June 14, 2024, a local landlord allegedly ordered the mutilation of a camel's leg as punishment for entering his agricultural field and damaging crops.[2]
Protest and Arrests[edit]
A protest outside the Sanghar press club, demanding justice for his camel. Following mounting social pressure, local police arrested two suspects who confessed to dismembering the camel's leg at the behest of the landlord.
Reactions[edit]
The incident sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with many calling for animal cruelty laws to be strengthened. The camel's owner appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu action against the local landlord.
