Well, if you're asking me personally: What's being requested here is the reproduction of 220 pages (limited "for now" to about 100 pages) from a collection of dozens of original texts (many of which are available online anyway) on dozens of specific topics by dozens of authors; as I don't see how such material is reasonably useful for the improvement of Wikipedia content, I haven't followed up on this thread here. Others may of course want to help. Best, — Pajz (talk) 15:07, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Illustrated Weekly of India - Volume 83, Part 1

{{stale}} In page 57, the making of Nenjil Or Aalayam has been covered. I'd like that page, as well as page 61. The last time I requested this, it was archived without being responded to. I do not want the same to repeat this time. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 11:04, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kailash29792, volume 83 appears to be for all of 1962, which would include some 52 issues. I would suggest touching base with Google Books here also to see if they can tell you which issue (particularly the day/month) the search term appears in. --Usernameunique (talk) 05:20, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it must be January 1962, since that is when the film was released. The film's release date is 26 January, but this could not have been published on the same day. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 07:12, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

{{stale}} I would like page 37 of the above-linked source; it has information on the film Kadhalikka Neramillai. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 04:14, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kailash29792, as Pajz noted in response to your request for Link, Volume 4, Issues 26-51, it's almost impossible to fulfill requests like these unless someone happens to have the whole volume. Google Books page numbering is inconsistent, and may not match the original materials. Some academic journals have continuous numbering - in other words, in volume 6, there will be only one page 37. Link appears to be a magazine. Magazines generally have a page 37 in every issue.
So a request for "page 37, volume 6, issues 26-52" looks as if you want page 37 of issue 26, page 37 of issue 27, page 37 of issue 28, and so on. In order to have a chance of someone finding this for you, you need to specify which issue has the page 37 that you want. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 11:19, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that. Not all details are explicitly present. But the publisher is United Periodicals, and the year is 1964. I can't find anything more, except that it was obtained from Virginia Univ as per G Books. --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:53, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Zigzig20s, according to Worldcat, it is available in some U.S. libraries. SchroCat, yes, please, that would be very helpful. Do you also have access to a searchable Times archive? There's a letter I'd like to see entitled "The women and the police", I believe about Black Friday, but I know only that it was published in 1911 and I don't have a month. A journal article I was going to request, in case you have access, is "The Legend of Black Friday". SarahSV (talk) 21:40, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Gazal world: I have this book, but am not comfortable copying 60% of it within the bounds of fair use. If you would like to pick one of the three chapters (Pound, Stein, or Zukovsky), I can probably share whatever portion of that chapter and the associated end notes not already readable via Google preview. Otherwise, the book is available used on Amazon for $4 + shipping. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:36, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Worldbruce: Thank you very much for helping me. I checked the book on Amazon. But, As I am living in India, it (including shipping charge) is very costly for me. Received. Thanks. -Gazal world (talk) 21:57, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to request chapter 1 and 2 with Introduction section. It would be help me in my work on L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E (magazine) and L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E movement on Gujarati wiki. Thanks. --Gazal world (talk) 07:05, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Gazal world: I have this book, but am uncomfortable copying 60% of it under fair use. Pages 1-31 are readable via Google Books preview. I can offer the balance of chapter 1 (pp 32-49). Chapter 2 is longer than I'm willing to copy, and after skimming it I'm doubtful that you would find it useful for your stated purpose. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:54, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Worldbruce: Hello, if possible, I want to have a look on chapter 1 and 2. -Gazal world (talk) 07:11, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Gazal world: Sent the balance of chapter 1, as described above. That's as much as I'm prepared to provide. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:21, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much Bruce. -Gazal world (talk) 18:29, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lavi's actors

[edit]

{{stale}}

I recently created the article Lavi (D.Gray-man) but I failed to find source in regards to his actor's car accident and his replacement. I'm pretty sure the DVDs from the first seasons of D.Gray-man might provide some commentary about it but I'm from South America so I have no access to them. Does anybody have those DVDs? Australian Railway Historical Society Bulletin

  • Neve, Peter (September 1990). "The Budd Rail Cars of the New South Wales Railways". Bulletin. 41 (635). Australian Railway Historical Society: 207–221.
  • MacFarlane, Ian (September 1998). "Railcar Recollections". Bulletin. Australian Railway Historical Society: 323–340.

For verifying details in Budd Rail Diesel Car, which I'm trying to improve to Good Article status. I already attempted ILL from the United States but no joy. Perhaps someone in Australia would have better luck?

Thanks, Mackensen (talk) 20:38, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This will need to come from an Australian Wikipedian, as the Bulletin is only kept in Australian libraries. Worldcat link. ~ Rob13Talk 20:49, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not entirely, it would appear, see OCLC 881043668. (I feel that Worldcat is terrible for periodicals ... there are scores of duplicates, and yet there is so much missing, particularly outside the U.S.) Best, — Pajz (talk) 21:32, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Pajz: The US libraries linked there all don't have 1990/98 as part of their holdings, unfortunately. ~ Rob13Talk 23:08, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously preferable if someone with direct access can help, but since you mention you've alredy tried to get hold of it via ILL: The British Railway Museum might have the volumes (their catalogue says "Holdings: Vol. 2, no. 159 (1951)- (Incomplete)"). If they do, it looks like you could order scans of the two articles for GBP 10.00 (order form). Depending on the generosity of your library, that might turn out to be substantially cheaper than an interlibrary loan from abroad. Just mentioning it because it strikes me as a pretty low price compared to what most institutions/national libraries charge for that service. But then again, maybe they don't have the volume at all. The Thing 1982, Anne Billson BFI book

{{Resolved}} Hi I'm after pages containing information from the above book that mentions "the film received negative reviews on its release, and hostility for its bleak tone and graphic violence." It's not this line of text exactly in the book, but it the statement is cited TO the book without a page number. Thanks. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 22:50, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 22:50, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Darkwarriorblake: I read her book and left notes on Talk:The Thing (1982 film) regarding which parts of the book support which parts of the sentence, and to what degree. I leave it to you to fill in the citation and/or tweak the wording accordingly. If you would like more than the quotes I provided, email me for scans of the relevant pages. Please mark this thread {{resolved}} when you have what you need and I can return the book to the library. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:55, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fullmetal Alchemist

[edit]

Hello, I'm new to these types of request but I am searching for scholars' information about the series Fullmetal Alchemist. Here are some sources I found.

I also made this research here but I don't know which articles mention the series so I would appreciate a bit of help with it.

Sup, RXers? Wondering if I can get hold of a chapter some pages from (ISBN 978-0304366965) Blindfold and Alone: British Military Executions by John Hughes-Wilson & Cathryn M Corns. They are chapter is "Young Offenders", pp.288–308 294–299 inclusive. It's in regard to this article (although I haven't saved the page yet).

Many thanks in advance if anyone can help out! Cheers, —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 10:46, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Serial Number 54129: There is a Google Book preview of this chapter here showing most of the pages. I don't know if that will be of any help to you. —Bruce1eetalk 11:34, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Bruce1ee: No problem—I'm looking at that all ready, but there's a couple of pages missing—as usual  :) I've adjusted my request, as I only need a few pages from the chapter (I was under the impression that some people found it easier to copy chapters rather than individal pages, that's all). Is the request more reasonable now, do you think? —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 11:56, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ResearchGate article

Need this ResearchGate article For w:gu:કાઠિયાવાડ.

Thanks, Gazal world (talk) 10:58, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ResearchGate is neither a journal nor a publisher but a platform for researchers to present their research. If the paper was published somewhere, feel free to let us know where and it might be possible to help. If it was not, you have to get in touch with the author (there is a "request full-text" button on the page). However, I suppose in that case doubts are merited whether the paper meets Wikipedia's verifiability guidelines/policies. Best, — Pajz (talk) 11:31, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Pajz for this information. Then, I will have to ask its author. I will check rather the paper meets Wikipedia's verifiability guidelines. -Gazal world (talk) 12:09, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
