Accusations are not the way

[edit]

The following advice in the essay is bad advice:

..instead of accusing someone of harming the project, you can instead accuse them of not knowing why they are harming the project.

Accusation is an ineffective way of sharing information. I propose changing the advice to:

..instead of accusing someone of harming the project, you can tell them that another way of contributing will help the project. Cuddlyable3 (talk) 02:11, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Much better, thank you. I was having a cynical moment when I wrote this ;-) Xavexgoem (talk) 03:50, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A simple definition of "clue"

[edit]

.. in the context of Wikipedia and how it relates to the project. That's what this page needs. -- œ 03:59, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How did WP:NOCLUE ever come into being? Please assume that I have no clue. ...PalindromeKitty (talk) 02:13, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

what to do?

[edit]

What to do about clueless contributors? Assuming good faith, if someone adds wrong information using anon.access? Is there a place where one can put IP addresses in order to have them closely followed by admins? (I just ran accross 84.169.114.174 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and 84.157.28.241 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)) — MFH:Talk 08:22, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MFH, ANI. JJP...MASTER![talk to] JJP... master? 19:19, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know what "ANI" means. After a depth-first search, I guess probably refers to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents aka WP:ANI. Did you put these two there? I tried to search the archives, but there are over 250 hits for "clueless" every week... :-( ! (EDIT: or not? search result are in disorder, but didn't find the one I mention among the first 1000, and search wouldn't bring up more [yet, there are entries from February in the search results...]. Well, never mind.) — MFH:Talk 14:16, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
